EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/15 sec | f 4.5 | 24.0mm (35mm equivalent: 36.0mm) | ISO 100

When I moved to the Albany some 18 years ago, there were two bus stations. A few years later, the services were consolidated into a single station and the old Trailways station fell into disuse and has been empty for quite awhile. The building, which I will photograph some day when conditions are better, reminds me of the kind of architecture many of us learned in the early 60's from our toy building set called 'I-Beams and Girders.' Using plastic beams and girders you would build a framwork and then attach these gaudy plastic panels to enclose the building. Strange buildings emerged, often with large open expanses beneath audaciously boxy superstructures. And that is what the old Trailways bus station looks like to me.

By the way, the arrow points to the photographer, so we could call this a sort of self portrait.
