![]() The other day a took a walk through the Stockade section of Schenectady, NY. It is the earliest settlement area in that city with at least one house reportedly dating from the late 1600's and many from the mid to late 1700's. It is a fascinating bit of America that has never been of the same touristy popularity of a place like Williamsburg or Plymouth Plantation, but still holds a lot of interest for anyone interested in the early settlement of the 'New World' Nothing particulary historical about this picture, I just liked the color and the hardware combination. I believe that most people who visit my site on a regular basis are already familiar with Rob's great work at Neverhappen, but for those of you who aren't, you owe yourself a few minutes to check out his most recent shot from Australia (yeah, yeah...I know, what IS IT with me and Australia anyway??) titled 'Explosion. This panoramic shot of a storm in the distance simply floored me as I perused my regular sites! ![]() | |
