EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/400 sec | f 10.0 | 60.0mm (35mm equivalent: 90.0mm) | ISO 100

I needed to shock my system tonight. Too many buildings. Too much dwelling on history.

I wondered, as I shot this yesterday in the freezing cold, why on earth are geese and ducks and seagulls able to swim around in near frozen water like they are out for a summer dip in the pool? I suppose there is some definitive answer to that question, but sometimes it is enjoyable to just ponder the imponderable.

This image was a product of several aggressive stages of processing, the most drastic of which was a Threshold Adjustment Layer that separated the image into a simple binary (black and white) image. The way I see it, you will either love it or hate. Though you may have trouble deciding which it is.
