I spent a morning at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton Virginia. It is well worth a visit if you are ever travelling Interstate 81 through central Virginia. I will be posting lots more from my visit over the next few weeks.

The museum is a 'living' museum that has been built around a group of three historic farms representing the European roots of the early settlers of the Shenandoah Valley, from Rhineland area of Germany (1710), Worcestershire England (1690), and County Tyrone and County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland (1730). Then it culminates in the 'American Heritage' with a mid nineteenth century farm typical of the valley.

At each farm there are folks going about daily life, cooking, spinning, gardening, etc. Quite nice really.
