Bagworm Cocoon
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/160 sec | f 6.3 | 180.0mm (35mm equivalent: 270.0mm) | ISO 100

I came across a stand of small evergreen trees alongside the weigh station where we were working in Tennessee that was fully infested by Evergreen bagworms. This is one of the hundreds of cocoons hanging from the trees. The caterpillars spin the cocoons and decorate them with bits of the tree they are in the process of devouring. This one is fairly fresh and the tree it was on was still alive, other close by trees had been killed by the insect larvae.

In my experimentation with Lightroom I have noted that sometimes the jpeg I export does not really match the colors I see while editing the shot. This got even more complex today when I edited this shot in CS2 as well. They look pretty much identical in their respective programs (Lightroom and CS2) but when exported from Lightroom (this one) or converted to JPG in CS2 the resulting files are distinctly different. Anyone have a clue as to why.

Addition 7/22/07
My friend Steve mentioned Safari as a browser. So I downloaded the Windows Beta Version and he is right! The two images are virtually identical, as intended when I did the processing. So now I realize more clearly just how important color gamut selection is AND how our selection of browsers makes such a significant difference in what we see on the screen. When I was using Raw Shooter Essentials for raw processing and doing my post processing in Photoshop CS, I never encountered this issue though now it seems clear that not everyone was seeing my pictures the way I thought they were.
