![]() Long time visitors to forgingahead will recognize this subject that pops up from time to time. Hard to miss the Empire State Plaza that looms above the City of Albany. I had to see what I could do up there with the new super wide lens. Spent a bit of time today beginning to unravel the mysteries of printing. Hard to believe, I suppose, but I have done little printing since I started forgingahead...which is my primary outlet for photos. Before I began using Lightroom I never had problems with the prints I did make, but now it seems there is absolutely NO correspondence between the colors I process on screen and the ones that print. I experimented today with printer profiles, paper profiles, color spaces, printing from Lightroom, printing from PS CS2, and more. I used this particular picture as my test. The sky in the prints ranged from a kind of sick green to a dull, pale, bluish-purple and all sorts of hues in between. So I went off to the Barnes & Nobles to do some research on Color Management, thinking I would find a quick answer. Not to be. Time I guess to join the local Photo Center and tap into some real one on one advice from those who know. Been meaning to do that for a long time, now I have a good reason. | |
