As I mentioned on Sunday, when I left the office that evening I was engulfed in a wonderful glow of reddish/yellow light as the sun sank below a bank of clouds. From the front door of our office, this was the view I saw (less some local clutter to the left that I cropped out). It is a fun part of living in the Albany area to take note of the many different views we can find of the Empire State Plaza and the Corning Tower (the tallest building in Albany). A few years ago I took a picture from the observation deck of the tower looking back towards my office. The trick here is for regular viewers of forgingahead to use the multitude of posts I have done around my office to try and figure out exactly where it is in the look back! In fact, I will send an 8x10 print of your favorite forgingahead post to the first person able to find it (local Albany residents excluded, because most of you know where I work). Simply copy the picture and add an arrow pointing to my office and send it to me.

Today, March 19, 2008 would have been my Father's 89th birthday. I suspect my Mother is remembering this day with a mixture of pleasant memories and sadness.
