17th Century Gravestone
EXIF: SONY DSLR-A700 | 1/160 sec | f 9.0 | 70.0mm (35mm equivalent: 105.0mm) | ISO 200

Taken at the Old Granary Burying Ground in Boston. Famous people buried here include Samuel Adams, Peter Faneuil, John Hancock and Paul Revere. This was a grave for four young children, all of whom died very young. One interesting observation is that the two names on the left side of this stone are both 'Elizabeth Neal.' One died at 8 days old in 1666 and the other at 2 weeks old in 1671. The leftmost burial also includes a daughter named Hannah Neal. Life was not easy in colonial New England.

The sparrow hopped onto the stone just as I was shooting this pictures.
