Lacrosse at Lansingburgh High
EXIF: SONY DSLR-A700 | 1/160 sec | f 6.3 | 200.0mm (35mm equivalent: 300.0mm) | ISO 400

Last week I went on an evening walk with the Capital District Hiking Mates Meetup. We had a group of about 25-30 people and had an interesting stroll up into Oakwood Rural Cemetery, one of my favorite places for photography. Warren, our group tour guide, seems to know a lot of Troy history and found a few pathways I was unfamiliar with, including one that traverses the front edge of the bluff overlooking the Lansingburgh section of the city. Looking down on one of the athletic fields at Lansingburgh High, I found the line of lacrosse players spreading out for their practice session a pleasant image. Ended up cropping to a square format to balance the composition better.

My trip to Patuxent River Maryland was fairly uneventful. We got out for a nice dinner at a seafood place on Solomon's Island. The food was excellent -- I had crab cakes that have apparently been named by the Washington Post as the best in Maryland, which is quite an accolade considering Maryland crab cakes are the gold standard! They were excellent, filled with chunks of crab meat and only enough 'filler' to bind the meat together, then lightly fried. Each cake was about the size of a softball, so there was no scrimping on serving size. (should have taken a picture, huh?)
