Water Drop
EXIF: SONY DSLR-A700 | 1/160 sec | f 5.6 | 75.0mm (35mm equivalent: 112.0mm) | ISO 200

Well, it's a new year. I enter 2012 with a resolve to return to more regular posting. But that means one of two things, or both. I must make more pictures. My camera has spent too much time in the bag and not enough around my neck. I haven't been going out and shooting enough. Both need to change.

Another goal is to spend more time this year managing my years of archives. I have gone through the thousands of pictures many times in the past few months and I am self impressed by the variety and quality of much of the older material. That is inspiration for future shooting, but perhaps more important is the realization that I sit on a rich source of material that I can look at with a fresh eye. So don't be surprised over the next several months to see some older materials organized into different bodies of work, often enhanced with a new look.

Currently, I am mining abstracts from the collection, represented by today's image. More to follow.

I am off tomorrow to NYC to see the Vivien Maier show at the Greenberg Gallery. I'm looking forward to that show because I have been fascinated by her story and the quality of he long unknown body of work.
