![]() After work today I had two hours to kill before my scheduled book club meeting so I decided to drop by the weekly Alive at Five free concert along the waterfront in Albany. Performing tonight was Little Feat, a band I recall from earlier years. I have never been one to get too absorbed by music, hardly ever know what band I am listening to or what the name of a particular song is. I had a roomate in the early 70's who hated that I knew so little; so he 'learned' me a thing or two and one of the albums he pounded into me was Sailin Shoes. Many long years have passed and I recognized little of what they played before I had to leave for my 7pm meeting. What I did remember clearly though was how much I dislike being in large crowds. And this was a large crowd. I took lots of pictures but on returning home and reviewing them I found nary a one worth the effort. BUT, I had nothing else prepared for my post tonight so I am offering this simple work to honor the hardworking tugboat workers as they pushed a barge down the Hudson River past the crowd on the shore and the boats in the river. Sorry but I don't feel like picking a site tonight, maybe I will add one in the morning before work. | |
