My Father, Shooting a Picture | Permalink
« Previous | Home | Next »

At some point in the mid-60's we made a winter-time trip to Florida (this was long before Disney World became THE winter vacation spot for families) to visit my Grandfather. Something about this picutre really touched my soul tonight as I processed it. (Yes Nate, it is processed it, including a rather severe crop to improve the composition) As I look closely at it, I see something of where I got my interest in photography. Certainly at some level my father inspired me to get into photography and he certainly encouraged my growth with the construction of a darkroom and assisting with buying all the requisite equipment -- enlarger, trays, chemicals, etc. So this picture embodies a meaning to me that may not be apparent in your eye. Just a picture of a man taking a picture of grapefruit, or is it more than that?
