My Mother's Mother, better known to the clan she oversaw for years as 'Granny,' as she appeared in the mid 1950's. Funny thing about grandmothers is that even though she must have been young when this picture was taken, I remember her just like this up until she passed some 30-odd years later. A timeless character who I remember most for her ability to create huge family meals, including the best fried chicken I have ever had, in a heartbeat out of kitchen barely big enough for one person at a time. Whenever we visited, family from all over the Baltimore area would drop in and she would lay out a spread of food that seemed endless to my youthful eyes.
